The Macdonald Conclave Enthronement Meeting
On Wednesday 20th April, M.P.Kt. Paul Johnson, accompanied by Peter Ronan, made the long trek south from the North East to Macdonald Conclave No.14 in Surbiton – his mission, to Enthrone his successor, after three years in the Chair.

The Macdonald Conclave Enthronement Meeting And thus, at last evening's meeting of, E.Kt. William Barr (also known to many of us as Assistant Grand Master of the Mark Province of Surrey) was Enthroned as Most Puissant Sovereign, in the presence of the Intendant General for Surrey and his Deputy and a number of other guests. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, the Viceroy-elect was unavoidably absent.

The newly-Enthroned MPS described the ceremony as very moving.

Fresh from his appointment as Conclave Junior General, W.Kt. Tom Batten was presented with his Appendant Orders Certificate by the Deputy Intendant General.

The Macdonald Conclave Enthronement Meeting After drinks in the bar, a festive board including surf and turf was enjoyed by all present. While masonic protocol proscribes discussion of region and politics, football transcends all of those restrictions – the Geordie amongst a raft of Chelsea fans more than held his own.

The Macdonald Conclave Enthronement Meeting After a restful night in a local hotel, (the now) P.Kt. Paul heads to Paris to represent the Mark and Secret Monitor at events over the next few days. We wish him a safe, covid-free, return home.

Macdonald Conclave meets twice a year, on the 3rd Wednesday in April and the third Tuesday in September... enquiries from potential candidates or joining members welcome.
